A group of friends are getting back into playing Firefly again. They used to play Firefly back in the late 1980s and early 1990s and its still their favorite rules system. For most, they haven't played WWII micro-armor in over 25 years. QUESTION 1: The rules state that there are two movements for vehicles. The first represents "Off Road Speed" and the second represents "On Road Speed". But some vehicles have 3 speeds listed but the rules for this only repeats the same the same statement as for 2 speeds. What do the 3 speeds represent? QUESTION 2: Can anyone scan (JPG) the original card insert with all the tables that came with the rules book? I guess this would be called the Cheat Sheet Insert. I was given a photocopy that shows the "Sequence of Play, Acquisition… etc) but its only of one side of the original sheet the same side, unfortunately, that is shown on the Board Game Geek website). I do have the Artillery Template on clear mylar, which I am told is usually the first thing people lost. I am sure there will be other questions. |

Can you give us some examples of vehicles with three listed speeds? Maybe we can spot the common denominator. I'm thinking "in water" for amphibious vehicles. |

Someone sent me an email and stating that they think its probably this: First number is 2W drive vehicles on Off Road Second number is 4W drive vehicles on Off Road Third number is for both 2WD and 4WD on Roads Firefly is that detailed. Wait until you see the vehicle and weapon data pages. Trucks and Jeeps have 3 speeds. The rule on this in the rule book is badly written and misleading, but the example above is probably right. I corrected the info in the rules for future reference. I will probably have other questions. Some of these are probably typos in the data tables that cause issues. For example there are cMGs which are Coax MGs, but there are also listed in the vehicle data cuMGs. No info in the rule book on this. Not sure if that is a typo or a different kind of MG mounting system that just wasn't noted in the rules. Amphibious vehicles are notes as: AMP… oddly, I did not see a water movement speed listed, which should be noted (you would think that that would be important especially since Firefly is considered to be the King of Detail when it comes to WWII rules systems). |

cuMGs = cupola mounted mg is my guess. |

GreyOne. I have taken photos of the front and back of my copy of the Firefly reference sheet. 3.5mb total. No idea how I can post these on TMP. I could email them if I had your email. |

Thank you, MHoxie cuMGs = cupola mounted mg Not sure why some of the vehicles are listed as having a cuploa while its not mentioned in the rule book. I will make sure its added. |

UKasdic My email address: erichotz@shaw.ca Thank you for taking the time to photograph the page. I plan to redesign the Cheat Sheets to make it more uniform in appearance to help with game play. |

The photo is excellent! I'll be able to use this with ease. Thank you! Do you still play Firefly? |

MINES: The rules state mines are placed into minefields. Each is broken down into 25m (ground scale) mine sections. It seems to work out to having markers that are 1cm square, which seems a bit small and fiddly. Is that correct? Would it hurt to use larger markers? The mine markers are double-sided. On the reverses side of each mine section (marker) is noted as: AP (anti-personal), AT (anti-tank), M (mixed) and blank if the minefield section is a dummy. |

Where can you find a set of these? I played them a few times as a kid and wanted to give them another look. |

Grignotage: I bought a copy of the rules off ABE Books online, but there are others for sale (occasionally) on Ebay. Both the author (d.1988) and publisher (d.2004) are dead so its anyone's guess who owns the copyright at this point. I doubt if the rules will ever be republished. I am re-envisioning them (redoing/publishing the rules from cover to cover with a new layout and tables) for my gaming group's use in hard copy. I am about 90% through the rules portion, but haven't tackled the Army Lists yet. |

What doers "BD" stand for on the Orders and Equipment sheets? On the example sheet lists an M7 Priest Self-Propelled Gun, under the "BD" column as 3000m (meters). However, in the rules, the gun on the M7 has a maximum range of 11000m. I cannot find anything in the rules that would correspond to 3000m for the M7 Priest. I can only assume that the M7 Priests, as an example, have been given orders to fire at 3000m indirectly, but this still doesn't explain what "BD" would stand for. |
