As subject says? I really like the metal bases from Wargames Acc. but I have been tempted to try and make my own. I've used floor tile for Impetus bases but they tend to bow and bend at the corners. If you make your own bases what do you use and how do you do it? |

Yes. Cut from mount board with a Stanley knife. Takes only a few minutes to make enough for a whole DBA army! |

Yes. Balsa and a razor saw. |

No. Not worth my time to try and make 'em. I got mine form Litko. |

No, I get mine off eBay – 2mm MDF. I know I couldn't cut them straight enough myself. |

My DBx bases are sheet styrene, cut with a paper cutter:

For 15mm I use Litko wood bases. hopefully players use the wood base instead of the figures. For 20mm plastic, I make my own from matte board. Since discovering dip, players may as well hold the figures. Paint doesn't come off any more. |

Yup, I usually use 2mm thick plasticard for my 15mm bases. All of my DBA stuff is in 15mm so it's all good. Mind you, I do have a set of bases that came with my Lydian army from Magister Militum. They are very nice shiny black plastic, perfectly cut but alas, too thick for my purposes. If anyone wants them, drop me a line

Nope. I use the sheet metal bases from Wargames Accesories; get 'em from Brookhurst. Doug |

My DBA troops are mounted on Litko bases with sheet metal bases from Wargames Accessories to hold them with magnets in their cases. |

Yes, thick vinyl floor tile. |

I have made them with card over magnet, but now much prefer Precision Plynth by David Boor. Formica over magnet. A few years ago our group bought a couple thousand in all DBx sizes, 60mm & 40 mm. |

I did use sheet styrene with steel paper underneath. I started using metal bases as I like the heft. |

I use 2mm black styrene – hand cut. Get a bit of variation but I can live with it. |

Get mine cut by a local metal shop, dirt cheap. Great for travelling as they go in a box with a magnetic sheet base. |

I have made my own in the past, but now I just get them from Litko. |

I make my own, same as for every other set of rules. Artists mounting board for DBx. |

Yes, cut my own from mdf or plastic and order online too. |

I buy magnetic bases from Renaissance Ink. For my first DBA army, I made my own magnetic bases from mdf and magnetic tape. Quickly decided that the modest monetary savings didn't justify the cost in time and quality. |
