I really like these rules – straight forward anc challenging game which is good fun to play.

But IIRC they were listed as the first in a series of shorter rule sets from WRG – but to the best of my knowledge it was the one and only "rulettes" booklet.

Anyone know why ?

Hmmm, pulls long forgotten memories. Model Engineer Exhibition Jan'79 at Wembley something or other. I remember Bob Barker talking with Dave Rotor saying there was no great interest in them after the initial sales, as the naval gamers either wanted ancient triremes or Napoleonic ships of the line. And nobody in WRG at that time wanted to mess with those.

So the answer would be, lack of interest?

I hope WRG will release this one as a free PDF, as they have other of their older rulesets.

So they let lack of interest in the particular subject torpedo the format?

@maker – Supply and demand. No demand, why lay out the cash? A wargamer has to eat… and maybe paint… then there's scenary and books… oh yeah, eating. I knew there was something I forgot.

Narratio, that was my point. It wasn't the format that failed, it was the subject. It's like "The Jazz Singer lost money (which it did on initial release), so we won't make any more Talkies"
