Hi, the above list can include ex-Qin troops from the Nanyue period, but, unlike in the parent list, the Chinese-style troops do not have the option of double-based Bw(X). Might that be an omission?

Do the Bw(X) have their own stat line in the parent list?
If they are an optional upgrade for Bw and/or Sp troops then that may be why.
The author may feel that as remnant troops they may no long have the training to be Bw(X).
Just my take on it. Of course if you are not playing in a tournament you can do what ever you feel appropriate. grin

Thank you, Ogdenlulimus. Yes, they are an optional upgrade.

I think that the point was mentioned in a thread on the DBMMlist in November 2008, one among Phil Barker, Jim Webster, and Nik Gaukroger, but I did not find any further discussion. Somebody's typo. of Bx(X) may not have helped!

Regardless, that may have been the thinking, but I would expect that a small cadre that knows its stuff, and which is given the opportunity to do so, can pass its training on to others.

Yes, that is another good point. I don't intend to play in tournaments, although "tournaments" do tend to be the main local occasion for DBx gaming…
