Could elephants be adapted into this rule set? If so then trolls and creatures would be easy enough to turn into LOR battles too. |

Mentioned this recently on the BGG group to Dan who is most swift at answering queries and lending support. He has no rules ready made but is keen for people to experiment and post. I have some pachyderm ideas forming, so I can use DBell across the Roman Empire of Late Antiquity even unto the Sassanids, yay. As the rules are reminiscent of Warmaster,HC etc, you could do worse than have a look at their treatment of Elephants, or the fantastic beasts, as a kind of baseline. |

I think you could do elephants pretty easily. Why not treat them as being cataphracts with some special rules? Say a rule that horses can't charge them and another rule for bravery tests after taking damage. If they fail then they rampage in a random direction and attack any unit that they base. Base wise I would base them on what they would fit comfortably on which is 40mm by something deep depending on the model. DB is a great little game with lots of potential beyond just covering Dark Age Britain. |

I think there is much to be gained from taking a look at "counts as" rules. Counting Elephants as cataphracts with a couple of special rules should work. Orcs, dwarves, elves, etc are pretty much the same as men. Wizards could function much the same as artillery. Trolls and such hit harder, so up their stats or give them a bonus on rolls. Dragons move as fast as light cavalry, ignore terrain, hit like Companions and defend like a shieldwall. Or alternatively devour the other guys army unless he has the special McGuffin of dragon slaying. |

As anyone who goes back far enough with WRG knows – a dragon is a flying elephant equipped with a greek fire thrower. |
