Hi chaps, I apologise if these have been asked before but I have a couple of questions to ask about COE, before I finally buy it. Firstly do weapon types matter like they do in WAB, you know the sort of thing, spear fights in two ranks, pilum gets an extra strength in the first round etc etc. Secondly, are generals and characters super powerful and kill all and sundry. Oh sorry, just thought of another one. Are special formations like cantabrian circle and phalanx given special rules. Thanks for any help

Firstly do weapon types matter like they do in WAB Yes. Secondly, are generals and characters super powerful and kill all and sundry. No, they mainly provide leadership and discipline bonuses. Are special formations like cantabrian circle and phalanx given special rules. Yes, there are special rules for various types of phalanxes, wedge, testudo, shieldwall and maybe some others. I don't think Cantabrian circle is included, though. |

I double-checked my book and found the Cantabrian circle now. Thanks for the correction, BelgianRay! |

Colin was suppose to give us a battle report, using COE. What happened? |

Sorry been tied up with things. But I plan to play 9th July using my Hittites against Egyptians. I am just waiting on some of the new Cutting Edge Hittite light chariots to arrive. |

Colin; have you used any of the light infantry basing 20 x 25 mm? and definitely looking forward to your report. |

I usually do all on 20x20mm or 4 to a 40x40mm. Although Barbarian irregulars do look good on 60x50mm deep with 6 figures to a base. |
