Had a nice game of chariot armies yesterday. Went very well with the Hittites scraping a victory. I used Hittites and decided to field 3x6 chariot units to get full flavour. this number is not required though. I got to use my new Cutting Edge 2 man Hittite chariots along with the 3 man Foundry ones. Chariots stood up very well against bow fire and were used more aggresively than I usually do. Runners on this occasion were no more help than cheaper skirmishers and tended to slow down chariots. Game flowed well and ran similar but like improved WAB. Chariots are strong and well worth the effort. It was quite an even match and armies were slightly smaller it seemed than 2000pt WAB. With careful planning and luck the chariots can ride down basic biblical infantry and as such these infantry have good reason to fear them. |
