Recently finished up the report on our monthly 28mm Clash of Empires ancient game. Late last month the scenario was an enlarged miniatures version of the Battle of Mantineia 326 BC with 6200 points per side direct from the COE "Rise and Fall of Persia" supplement.

AAR contains both turn by turn text, pictures and video links.

The same blog has several other reports of recent 28mm COE ancient games. Their links below too:

Ancient Indian vs. Ancient Indian battle for Los Angeles rights… link

Battle of Granicus 334 BC: link

Batavian Revolt 70 AD: link

Battle of Megalopolis 331 BC: link

Greek City State vs. City State battle: link

Late Greeks vs. Achaemenid Persians battle: link

Republican Rome vs. Seleucid battle (training game): link

As you can see above, we enjoy our ancient gaming in Southern California (Long Beach). All are welcome to contact WR on his blog information to inquire about the next monthly game.
Miniatures are not a requirement to join in. Just the ability to march miniatures, roll dice and learn the game over time.

Cheers from the warren,

Wow, that is a LOT of Ancient gaming goodness, WR.

These are well done, detailed battle reports with huge armies!

Nice indeedy – can't beat lots of hoplites beating on one another!

Thanks G and C for your supportive comments.

Always a pulling decision for WR which to play on the weekend. Ancients, napoleonics or 20mm FOW.

Next ancients will be a Italian wars (early Rome) scenario.

Very nice. I really like the COE rules for ancients in particular. Nice to see a wide variety of scenarios/games all under one place for a good read!
