To support the run up to the release of Clash of Empires, the new set of Ancient and Medieval rules from Great Escape Games, the author Stuart McCorquodale has gone through the ranges of figures at North Star and worked out some ready made army deals. And to make it worth while you looking, I'm selling them at special prices up to the release of the book. The first deal is a Greek Hoplite army, using metal and plastic Immortal Miniatures. link Regards Nick North Star PS Yes, you can collect at Salute! |

Wow that looks like good value! This isnt helping me fight my temptation for a new Ancients rule set. |

As if this ruleset was in need of any further hype
I hope it actually gets released sometime soon. |

16th April at Salute. That soon enough for you Griefbringer? It's because launch day is so close that GEG are being so vocal. This time two months ago they were relatively quiet, unless you went to their forum. There IS a lot of excitement about the launch of these new rules and the present enthusiastic marketing from GEG is warranted. Because you know, they are trying to actually SELL it. Unlike other games GEG are actually delivering what they promise. The game is being released ON SCHEDULE and Offical (Free!) army lists are going up on their website as we speak – rather than in two years from now. Perhaps you have become too jaded and cynical to tell the difference between misleading sensationalist hyperbole and truthful advertising. GEG and Northstar are using the latter. Incidentally, advertising an army package to link in with a ruleset is hardly "hype". Now if it was GW mouthing off about WAB, giving us more empty promises delivered to us in a PR man's voice
well, yes, then it would be hype and nothing but
So I don't mind the advertising; my only (very small) concern is whether or not there is a yet to be found down side to COE. GEG have been so open that it would have to be VERY well buried to have not become apparent yet, so I am hopeful that all will be as good as it appears. But we'll see. In just 13 or so days, we'll know. |

The Early Imperial Roman deal, using a lovely mix of metal and plastic figures from Warlord Games is on the site now. link I'll be putting up Carthaginian armies using Crusader metal figures next, plus an all metal Crusader Miniatures Hoplite army for those of you who like a bit more 'weight'. I've also got some 'starter armies' to put up. I'll find out what exactly they are and post here later. Thanks to Scutatus for answering Griefbringer, it does seem like needless cynicism. The book is at the printers, all seems fine for delivery date. And as to over-hyping, I chose to put this in the message boards to catch the eye of interested parties rather than present Bill with a news piece every day announcing new army deals, quite understated really. |

Personally I appreciate Nick posting here. I've bought a lot of figures from Nick as a result of his past posts on TMP and have been very happy with the product and service. |

Added a Republican Roman Clash of Empires army this evening, using Crusader Miniatures metal figures. The starter armies I'll add in a short while are smaller armies you can use for introduction style 'Border Skirmish' games in the rules. |

Dear Nick, Do you know how late the Clash of Empires rules will go? I hope that they follow WRG and WAB and go up to about 1485. Mick |

Stuart already answered my question in another thread. Mick "There are plans to do a book dedicated to the European Medieval period. I will also have a WotR list up soon that covers Lancaster and York. With a tweak, or an extra list, it'll cover the other factions." |

I've just added an Ancient German Barbarian army to the Clash of Empires army deals. This one is at a crazy discount, almost 1/2 price, but I'm putting the price up on Wednesday! |
