In the DBA rules, light infantry (in particular I'm classing javelinmen, slingers, etc) are based 2 figures on a 60mm x 30mm stand (for 1/72 scale figures)

What are the basing conventions for said light infantry in Impetus and Warmaster ancients please?

In Impetus 28mm troops are based on 12cm frontage with 4cm (or 6cm) depth for heavy infantry and 6cm depth for light infantry. The number of figures on each base is up to the player, though the pictures in the rulebook have 4 figures/base for skirmish types

Would I be right in assuming then, that a unit in Impetus equates to four elements from DBA?

For example, I would need 4 60mm x 20mm DBA elements for 1 unit of heavy infantry in impetus?

Does anyone know how this works with Warmaster?

And remember that skirmish bases are only 3cm deep

or ,indeed, what ever you like -I went for 40mm just for the look of it.
You'd just need 2 DBA etc bases for skirmishers in Impetus.

There aren't any official basing conventions in warmaster except the standard 40mm x 20mm base. How many figs you put on it is up to you. In 10mm I put 4 skirmishers, 6 loose order (tribals etc) and 8-10 close order troops on a base.
If I was doing 1/72 (which I'm thinking of) I'd go with 60mm x 30mm stands and use the same number of figures (4, 6, 8). Haven't tried this yet though.
Basically, make the difference between troop types obvious but there are no hard and fast rules.
