Which was the first army that you collected and painted for use with Impetus?

RobH04 Oct 2011 2:49 p.m. PST

First one done specifically for Impetus was 28mm Feral Wood Elves for the Impetus Fantasy variant. Being followed by 28mm Kingdom of Heaven Crusaders, also for Impetus Fantasy.

I also have 20mm El Cid armies underway that stalled due to HaTs abysmal release schedule delays. May get back to them one day when the cavalry are finally available (on the shelf in my local store)

My 15mm armies are rebased from previous use in other sets of rules.

25mm Greek Hoplites

jefritrout04 Oct 2011 3:11 p.m. PST

15mm HYW English to be followed by HYW French.

I have used armies based for other systems, but the first one will be Sassanid Persian.

My First army (of a whole 3!, for Basic Imp) was Eastern Han ^^

00 JET 0004 Oct 2011 4:54 p.m. PST

15mm Free Company (Couldn't get the image thing to work.)

AlanYork04 Oct 2011 4:55 p.m. PST

Wars of the Roses Lancastrian in 28mm which I'm currently building.

I already have Yorkists, Hellenistics and Pontics in 15mm based for other systems but fortunately combining the bases makes for the right sized Impetus units.

Florida Tory04 Oct 2011 5:05 p.m. PST

I collected a painted British/Gallic army to provide opponents for my son's Romans.

None so far.

Lentulus04 Oct 2011 5:23 p.m. PST

The Italian Wars French and Imperial armies I previously collected in 15mm have suddenly become Impetus armies. Does that count?

Martian Root Canal04 Oct 2011 5:24 p.m. PST

Samurai

(Leftee)04 Oct 2011 5:44 p.m. PST

Both kinds – Burgundian AND French Ordonnance.

Next up – finish my Hittites, Assyrians and Egyptians.

nsolomon9904 Oct 2011 5:46 p.m. PST

15mm Mongols & Ayyubids (re-based from WRG/DBwhatever)

JCBJCB04 Oct 2011 7:05 p.m. PST

Marians/Celts in 28mm and Alexander/Darius/Porus in 15mm. As soon as plastic knights are available from Perry, I'll do WoR.

TKindred Supporting Member of TMP04 Oct 2011 7:23 p.m. PST

28mm EIR Romans and Britons. Worked on both at the same time so as to have 2 armies available to introduce folks to the game.

Next up are late Republic Romans, followed by Hoplites ( 2 armies for city-state battles, etc) and then on to Late Roman/Arthurian and their opponents.

What's nice about Impetus is that I can build several BI armies of various periods and then expand them each up to 300 points, and higher, for not a lot of money.

None specifically for Impetus: I tend to use my armies for a range of rules and I don't like rebasing.

Derek H05 Oct 2011 3:07 a.m. PST

Samurai. Individually based on circular or oval bases that go into sabots when I play Impetus.

Just finished re-basing it yesterday:

…15mm Essex Picts c1992

Just have to paint the bases and it's ready for Basic Impetus / Impetus 300 points.

Costanzo105 Oct 2011 10:02 a.m. PST

28mm Etruscan

Bohemund05 Oct 2011 11:05 a.m. PST

I have a wide swath of dark age Europe and Mid-East amies, including Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Normans, Magyars, French, Crusaders, Byzantines, Syrians, and Seljuks.

Currently painting dark age Irish.

After that I'm conflicted -- Dacians, or Carthagians, or classical Greeks? So many armies, so little time . . .

(Bruka -- what scale are your ancients in?)

balticbattles05 Oct 2011 11:35 a.m. PST

28mm Wars of the Roses.

Based for WAB, bigger bases for Impetus.

I base flexibly so that when rules change, basing is minimal effort :)

hwarang05 Oct 2011 2:02 p.m. PST

In 1/72 that was ancient Persian. In 15mm it was Ming Chinese. In 28mm it is a human army (mostly warhammer Bretonnia minis) for one of the fantasy variants.

(Leftee)05 Oct 2011 9:32 p.m. PST

Bohemund – all 15mm – mostly Essex and some Charioteer.

Oh, and I also cannot make RockCon – teach every weekend between now and Xmas.

kevanG07 Oct 2011 9:49 a.m. PST

Punic war romans!…but 15mm stuff on 28mm bases.
