From the Dadi e Piombi site these should now be available. Does anyone know if they are? Has anyone got a copy? If not does anyone know when they might finally hit the streets? I have been waiting for these for AGES! Mollinary |

Where did you see that they are available now? The website announcement on 03FEB2016 states they will be sent off to the printers in two weeks. link |

Jon, Many thanks for that link. Up until yesterday their site was saying that pre-ordering was possible in December 2015 and that the rules themselves would be available in January 2016. Really glad to see this update, but won't hold my breath. Possibly available at SALUTE in April? I have thousands of 10mm troops itching to take to the field! Mollinary |

Mollinary, have you tried the Basic Impetvs version of Baroque that is available now and free? I used it for an ECW game and BI Baroque worked very well. Get your 10s onto the table now with BI Baroque. |

Jon, Yes, hence my desire to get the full fat version! Mollinary |

OK, you two! Spill the beans on why you both are so excited about the rules. Why are these better than what's out there now? You just can't come onto these boards and cry "Fire!!!" without some 'xplaining y'know? C'mon….share the excitement! |

Hi Tom, Maybe it is the triumph of hope over experience, but I have large ECW armies and have yet to find a set of rules which really scratch my itch. I think this is about the latest period for which adapted Ancient rules can work, and Impetus have a basic simplicity which appeals to me. I think To the Strongest and Commands and Colora Ancients might also work, but they have yet to be developed so far. The rules already go as far as the 16th century, and I am interested in seeing how they will adapt to the formation changes of the next century. We shall see. Mollinary |

……have you tried the Basic Impetvs version of Baroque that is available now and free? I used it for an ECW game and BI Baroque worked very well. My rules of choice for ECW are FoG:R, but I have tried BI Baroque and I really liked them (especially where the rules "flip" as to whether you need a 1 or a 6 when rolling dice!). As well as the rules, I particularly like where you can make each base a diorama and use all those figures you can't normally, eg caracoling(sp?) cavalry and pikemen at "charge of pike". |

I'm a big fan of Pike and Shotte for ECW & 9YW (I ignore the stupid Hedgehog special rule). How does this compare? Many of the battles I play are large games, 30+ units per side, how do the Impetus rules handle large games? Cheers Ian |

We have play tested the rules using larger armies. Once we mastered the rules, and if you have played Impetus it will not take long, the games moved along at a good clip. I recommend them. |

Just an update to say that the layout of the English version has been send to the proofreaders (2 in UK, 1 in US and 1 in OZ) for the final check. Few days to give them the time to do their job and then time to go to print. The book will include 7 sample army lists (Early 30YW Catholic, Early 30YW Swedish, Early CEW Royalists, Early ECW Parlamentarian, Ottoman Turks, Polish, Later Imperial) and many more will follow soon as beta lists (and in the future collected into 1 supplement) For those with facebook I have just created an official Baroque group |
