I've been looking for a supplier of Impetus size bases and can't locate any in Australia. Does anyone know of any? |

I just make mine from artist mount board. Any size you like for a few pennies apiece. |

Artist Mount Board….? Is that the same as foam core? If so, doesn't it warp with glue and paint? Always looking for new ideas, Dave |

Artist Mount Board….? Is that the same as foam core? No. It's a paper product. Thick stiff, easily cut but use a paper cutter, sometimes called a paper cutter guillotine. That will make the cuts straight. Usually artist mat board is awkwardly large for a home paper cutter but the store will cut it in two or quarter cheaply. Of course it's been ages since I cut mat board stands
If so, doesn't it warp with glue and paint? Yes it does |

If you can find it in your local art supplies store, I recommend PVC foam board. It's easy to work with like mounting board, but because it is plastic and not paper it doesn't rot, and because it is a single layer it does not warp after glue is applied to it. |

A familiar brand name for PVC foam board is Sintra (http://www.sintrapvc.com/) Can also be bought in various sizes and thicknesses from on-line from foam board suppliers like foamboardsource.com see review by Mel, the Terrain Tutor at: YouTube link |

I have used artists' mounting board for bases. I stop it warping by using magnetic tape under the board, apply my glue, sand, flock etc. and then put the completed base onto a steel surface until the glue has set. Units are stored in steel trays. Works fine for me. |

The best thing I have found is a product called Taskboard. Cuts pretty easily with a good Exacto blade and won't warp. It takes paint and texture gels readily. The stuff can be shaped when wet and dries to form, but obviously not what I use it for! |

If you want a supplier of pre-cut bases in Oz, try Battlefield Accessories. I've bought most of my bases from Warbases in the UK. Quick and good value. |

How much is shipping from Litko to you? I use laser cut wood bases. They also have flex magnet or steel basing that adheres to the bottom of your wood bases. |

I've never had a problem with mount board warping from the use of glue or paint. |

Thanks everyone for your help. I've been using card and don't think it will cope with changing to x4 size bases. |

The only board I've found that doesn't warp is that old standby – the beermat. These have been used for bases for ovedr 40 years and they are easy to pick up in any bar if you ask nicely for them. I went over to laser cut mdf over a decade ago but I still have masses of figures on berr mat bases. |
