The Legions of Roman take part in what is probably the first ever UK event for ancients ruleset L'Art de la Guerre. They play Indians, Middle Romans and Palmyrans in three tightly themed standard sized games in one day all reported on Madaxeman.com.

The rules are translated from French, but did the Romans find it was all Greek to them ?

Find out for yourself how these new-to-English-translation rules (that seem to blend elements of DBA and FoG in a pretty robust package that plays out in around 2 hours) play out in these three match reports.

Cool, more of your battle reports, I love'em, even if you put them on the wrong board. :)

I've been hoping for more Madaxeman reports using this rule set! (Lucky it was the 18th century and not the Napoleonics board):P

Your blog is excellent. I really enjoy the DDLG reports. Been wanting to get a copy myself. I also noted that over here in the USA there are some events for the rules at Cold Wars! Very nice. I believe On Military Matters has them here in the US.

Good work. Keep it up.

We had 26 players taking part in a 1-day event in London this weekend, including many new players – and it all ran surprisingly smoothly, with people picking up the rules very easily.

Thanks for posting.

We played this over the weekend for the first time as well. Really quite an enjoyable game!
