A friend here in the UK is interested in them, can't really find out much about them?

They are a re-working of WRG 7th (??) edition.

Warrior is an updated version of the W.R.G. 7th Edition Ancients wargames rules. They have amended the rules to make them work consistantly, taken out the barely comprehensible language and added many examples of play (plus glossy pictures!) Quite a good set of rules IMHO. The main book also includes a mini-version "Fast Warrior" with set army lists for a quick taster game.

I have been using Warrior exclusively now for three years (after trying DBM, Armati, and looking at Classical Hack).

I have played WRG 6 & 7 and these are a vast improvement while keeping the flavor intact. The Army lists have seen a great deal of improvements as well.

Like 7th edition, you will need a bottle of aspirin grin

Now, now, it's not that bad.
As long as I have someone chanting the various turn phases in the background, I do OK.

It is a game in which you must pay attention to the rules. Is that too much to ask?

But does it have an "Argument Phase"?

If I remember correctly it has a "damaged figure phase" as you hurl your troops against the nearest wall and take a "chug" on the apirin bottle.
