I have played a game and a bit with these rules. It was part of my ongoing quest for fast play rules on a 2'x2' table. I have a replay of Heraclea coming with these rules once I get the pictures into the draft blog post. In the meantime, here is an overview of the rules on my blog: link |

Thanks, Shaun. I always appreciate these reviews. |

I'll assume you don't like DBA. Have you tried Armati? It has a condensed-scale version which might fit the bill. |

According to his "Ancients rules used for refights" and "Ancient Reviews/Battle report links" blog pages, Shaun has already played and provided battle reports for both Armati 2 and DBA. |

Armati is my fasvourite ruleset. I am not fond of DBA but will play it if asked. I do like DBM. |

Deserter, I am on the mailing list for the Pz8 rules and followed the creation of this rules by John and you with interest. I would have like to have got more involved in the discussion from a little while ago, but life got in the way. I would revisit the rules – when I have time – via the mailing list before giving them a go. |

thank you for your interest, I will keeping following your blog! |

These were the first set of Ancient rules I played back in the late 70s. Still have a soft spot for them. Still have a copy of them. Mainly play DBMM these days. Cheers, JohnG |

JohnG, Were you in Australia when you first played them? I wish they were my first set of ancient rules I played. |
