More pages; whats changed in the substance of the rules? |

Rev 2 contains the errata that was obtained after Rev 1 was released. Rev 1 contained a lot of typos and some of the rules needed to be re-written to make them easier to understand. Hence these were included in Rev 2 making it a bit 'beefier' then Rev 1. However, I do not know if LMW Works included some of the better formatted play examples/army examples in Rev 2 as appeared in other later 'Hack' rules sets. I still only have Rev 1 |

20 more pages is a lot of re-writing. Must be something new as well? |

Pssssssst
.I've known Phil, Rich, and Ed since I was a kid, and been gaming with them for a real long long time (Considering I am 55 now). And they are a great bunch of gamers. Was in at the start of the entire 'Hack' adventure, and it has grown and changed a lot since then. But, not a one of them really was a very good writer then (They have gotten a lot better, a lot better). The first Knight Hack set was nigh unreadable lol. I did mostly playtesting with them then, and boy could I tell you some funny stories, but I am a freelance writer on the side so
I put pen to paper and started to re-write 'Knight Hack' so a human being could understand them. When I was done it had grown by almost 25 pages! The point is it is possible. In any case Phil is setting up for Cold Wars and I will not be in contact again with him until next week (We are now seperated by almost 2,000 miles and working on a new project for LMW Works together, so email is our favorite contact method). I will ask him what the differences are between Rev 1 and Rev 2 good enough? |

Oh funny story
.. We were playtesting rules for a fortified position, in this case a stone wall on a hill. The Romans attacking Gauls defending. The Romans waltzed through the Gauls like a hot knife through butter, twice. I was so frustrated that in the third replay I charged my Gauls over the wall and down the hill into the advancing Romans, while Ed's half of the line waited behind the wall. Ed's line was broken again and I, getting a downhill charge bonus, drove the Romans off. If only Ceaser would have known this before Aleysia! LOL Basically the rule was written that the Fortified positions bonus overruled any terrain bonus. Which meant the Romans didn't get a minus for attacking uphill, hence the low wall was no better then Gauls standing on a hill in the open! OOoooooooooppppppppssssss! Well it looked good on paper, and a lot of rules do sometimes. I'll get back to you ASAP |
