Cool! I could see painting them and then putting a thick layer of neoprene, felt, or mousepad rubber in the bottom to help reduce the noise.

Thanks so much for posting this.

For terrain storage, I use Really Useful Boxes (4L and 9L). I have a need for modular inserts for scatter terrain of about half the size of the smaller box (so roughly 6x8" and 2.5" deep to fit 2 trays in a 4L or stacked 4 trays in a 9L). I looked all over for pre-manufactured trays in this size, and couldn't find any so, literally today, I was going to the garage to mill down some lumber to assemble my own.

These are almost the right size. Considering the saved effort, they may do well enough. I'm on my way to Dollar Tree right now.

I have a couple of these, use them on my paint tray for holding misc things (the arched handle, low wall) – nice, lightweight, didn't give a thought at all about using for troop trays or anything. May have to get a few more.

Nice find! I would add some felt to the interior bottoms. Deadens the noise a bit. Thanks for sharing

I picked up two more at a Dollar Tree near me. Great for die rolling trays if you can persuade your players to actually use them for that. The noise isn't that bad.
