So much for paradise… fighting broke out there today, in the province's capital city, between Maute rebels (radical Islamists) and government forces. link Fortunately, Editor Gwen is not in that city. |

Yes the president there placed the entire southern island under martial law. hoping he finally revokes there local authority so these kind of things will be lessened. |

Probably 60 miles from there. Editor Dianna reports there are bomb threats in her city, and there might be martial law there too. |

It look like a lovely place. Such a shame that Gwen has such troubles, makes me sad that people cannot just be who they are. I hope all of the Ed's remain ok! |

Martial Law declared in Mindanao. That includes my city and where Editor Dianna live and my province as well. Yes, Lanao del Sur is such a lovely place with nature. I feel comfortable to stay there than in Cotabato City. Happy Ramadan… have a nice day! |

We just had an aftershock felt within the Metro Manila and nearby provincial states after an earthquake in Zambales. But Martial Law is the worst. I don't envy the people of Mindanao right now. God Bless Philippines. |

In my city, our only problem here is the traffic, there's check points everywhere, and if you work in the city, you must travel two hours before you're on duty, so you will not be late. At every check point, the passengers must stop and show their identification card, as a proof that we are innocent civilians, and for them to easily recognize the Maute group. |
