I don't think we can deny that among our ranks were (are?) some douche bags who seemed to get off on making very hateful comments. As far as TMP goes, I am looking forward to a revised manufacturers directory because I presume you are going to get rid of the business who closed up shop ten years ago but still have a listing.

The problem with "dead" companies is that they usually don't tell us they're dead…

Why the denizens of that 'other forum' decided to fixate on Claire for their peculiar adolescent form of venom is beyond me. I guess that what comes of living in your mom's basement eating Coco Coco Puffs and Hot Pockets all day…

Good to see Claire is taking it in stride (as they say, someone has to be the adult…).

@IGWARG1 By that definition every employer exploits there employee's, that is the nature of business. CEO's make 10,000 times what there laborers do because at the end of the day they are not responsible for the final product the CEO's are.

Unless you subcontract out everything you fall under that definition.

I just spoke with Claire, and we've added some new material to the interview.

I get what you're trying to do, but do you really think you'll change the minds of those who think you're doing something wrong with this type of "interview" ?

As a purely disinterested observer (I have very little idea about what this whole kerfuffle is about as I haven't read the posts) it comes off to me as stage managed and a bit creepy to be honest.

I think you're better off just ignoring the outrageous slings and arrows.

Well, it did let people know, from Claire, what the facts are and where she stands.

I've seen a few odd people in35 years of wargaming but nothing that compares with this!
I hope I never meet up with these creeps.

I'm sorry to see that some people have to take the most peurile, inflammatory stance possible towards our new assistant editors. I hope that doesn't drive any of them away, because I'm glad you're here and I'm glad that Bill has had the guts and ingenuity to employ these fine people. This is what globalization in the 21st century will look like, more and more.

Welcome, Claire. I am very sorry for what some individuals have said. This can be a very strange hobby as to some of its participants. I congratulate Bill on hiring you, as well as the other editors. I wish you continued success in your career.

Bill, sorry to say, but a few questions in her interview are just inappropriate- asking your employee anything about pornography, the "hoe" question, etc. IMO this should be presented as a professional introduction, since this is your business. It's unfortunate that she was treated poorly, but we live in a world of angry people with poor social skills. I'm afraid this perpetuates the idea that you are exploiting your editors- it looks like you are defending yourself. Thanks.

Claire and I talked before the interview. She knew she didn't have to answer all of the questions. I gave her the opportunity to respond to what had been said on Frothers, and she chose to answer those questions – and to add more to the interview later, in fact.

I was not comfortable with this interview. It could and should have been done more professional.

I have not looked at what's been said on Frothers and probably wont as I don't like that forum.

Can we get back to gaming? Claire I am sure is quite the lovely person. The fact that most gamers are overweight baldy slobs doesn't help this situation (I am one of those types, so do not dawghouse me for being honest). This site should be about gaming. I am with 79th PA, let's get the directories cleaned up. I offered years ago to assist, but did not receive a reply. The offer still stands. I would help get the rules and eras directories cleaned up as well.

I personally don't care what you or your staff get up to in your private lives, so why do you keep up this so called war between TMP and frothers going? After all, your just as bad when you post material such as this.
I used to come to TMP for useful info on all things miniatures and wargaming, but recently it's just becoming a farce.

I don't think that any of the problems have to do with believing in you, Claire. Although I, too, find many of the questions in this interview to be extremeley invasive and not appropriate for an employer to ask of his employee.

A couple of quick notes. :) You can remove "Die Kaizerzeit" 20mm WW1 miniatures manufacturer from your Directory. My father, J.J.Daub was the sole owner/operator and passed away four years ago. I recently retired the molds and melted down the remaining stocks.
As for yourselves, Bill and Claire ,there truly is no need to defend yourselves from the sad spite and vitriol of the socially stunted. Try to always remember that nothing anyone does or says is because of you. The jealousy, loathing, meanness, cruelty, and thoughtlessness of others, comes from within themselves and ultimately the harm they seek to inflict on others, to try and alleviate their painful issues with themselves, only serves to harm themselves further.
For your own peace of mind don't respond to them anymore than you would respond to mean-spirited childern yelling insults from the play ground, to garnish attention for themselves.
Please drop and delete this whole thing and file it exactly where it belongs. In the trash.

Bill asked me if I wanted to answer those questions, and I wanted to. What I've said in the interview was my own way of thinking to answer those questions, and I was not manipulated by anyone on what I was going to say.

Claire- Don't let this whole mess get you down. You and the other editors are valued for the jobs you do. As for the unwarranted invasion of your privacy; well, some 'people' (I'm hesitant to include them in with the rest of the human race, but I guess I have to) just seem to think its their right to do so for whatever warped and infantile reason.

Oh,one more thing: In your interview you mentioned you're a 'not young 29'. Well, compared to the old farts (me included) on this forum, 29 IS young! LOL! (Oh, to be 29 again….)

Some of the questions were a little weird when I read them. I figured he asked them because people were complaing or saying mean things about Editors of TMP. I'm sorry people are like this to them and wish they would stop it. I'm not sure what the "other" website he is talking about and I'm not sure I want to know it.

I'm a typical TMP troll trying to see what is new out there in the gaming world, and I don't troll the forums that much.

Wow, those frothers are a bunch of freaks. I am sorry anyone has to deal with these bizarre accusations.

Some people pretend to be concerned about exploitation as a vehicle to make accusations and create distress. I think that is what is happening here, considering the other remarks.

I can understand that Bill and Claire wanted to go through all of these accusations in order to leave nothing unanswered as the accusations made them uncomfortable. This isn't "Sex, lies, and videotape" being done for titillation.
