"And there is her reason – simple curiosity! A young acolyte has recalled what all of you, for all your wisdom have forgotten . . . The greatest joy, that of the child with an unopened box!" – Dukhat of The Grey Council, Starider clan, Warrior Caste, of Minbar.

Don't need to over analyze this……just enjoy the sensation. Your inner child anticipating an unopened box. Wonderful.

Perhaps it is about play. Receiving things in a fantastical way, packages to be unwrapped to see what is inside, and finding miniatures to move across a flat service, or pieces to do the same on a game board, seems to be a good bit about play. And the joy and happiness that comes from that.

I agree; well said.

On a related topic, then we have the hobby shop dreams …

Editor – you could test your happiness by passing them on. PM and I'll send you my mailing address and spread the joy of minis. :-)

The joy a child experiences on their birthday or Christmas does not have to end as we grow older.

A little late to the party….but….well done Bill….I get the same thing when my precious treasures arrive…

Many good memories come via my miniatures.

Thanks, Bill

Homo ludens -- that's us.

Sometimes reopening a box and finding something that had faded a bit from my memory is almost as exciting as a new package.

Ah, yes, those hobby shop dreams where there are all sorts of things on the shelves, and at very reasonable prices.

Years ago on my birthday in the 1990's, I had the waking dream of finding a stash of models in a hobby shop that were priced as if it were the 1960's. Needless to say, I bought myself a birthday present that year!
