Hey All!
We've not seen any formal reviews yet but there are some comments in our release thread here on TMP and we've received a ton of e-mail (does e-mail weigh anything?) So far the feedback has been universally positive and we've had just a few questions about rule clarifications.
We STRONGLY encourage players to contact us with questions and comments since our design approach is focused 100% on player convenience and entertainment value. There were things in the rules at various points that I personally enjoyed but testing demonstrated that some players found them confusing or extraneous. Out they came!
By the same token, we've had requests for additions so we're about to release a free DLC supplement called "A Clear and Present Madness". This includes content request by multiple players:
- gunships/helicopters…our original thought was that the near future post-A setting would make such assets too valuable for tactical combat. But players really want them because there are lots of cool near-future models available and they want to game larger current combined arms battles.
- mounted infantry…we built rules for these but didn't include them because there just aren't many figures available for them. But so many players have requested them we've decided to release the rules in the free supplement.
- larger battles…we've had several players already mod the game for larger battles. We deliberately tried to keep the battles as small as possible for convenience purposes but the system is fast enough to handle larger games. So the free DLC will add a system for larger armies
- current TO&Es…to make armies as flexible and colorful as possible we set the game in a post-apoc near future. You can use real-world troops, Mad Max-style figures, or near future troops. But we've used the system for everything from WWII to sci-fi and have requests for translating current, real-world TO&Es into WAM. So the free DLC will include major Western and OPFOR company-level TO&Es.
I should also note that we're running an army building contest with a $30 USD prize for best army. Submissions are due by Halloween! See website for details.
EDIT:
Here's the link for the contest page:
