's motivation to paint Napoleonic ships returns!
Our Facebook campaign of music videos, staff editor videos, and posts about website articles has been modestly successful, as we've seen a steady flow of new members at TMP.
As our skills have grown, we've gone back from time to time to upgrade our older videos, which Scanning The Table is our prime example of:
- Original Version
- The second music video we ever made, combining one of our original wargaming theme songs with new art, which you can read about here. 278 views on Facebook.
- Second Version
- Same art, but switched to a song based on the art. You can read about it here. 1,107 views on Facebook.
- Third Version
- When we first learned how to do captions, the original video was re-uploaded with English captions. 527 views.
Since then, we've learned how to do captions in multiple languages, so the older videos are gradually being re-uploaded with captions in English, French, Spanish, German and Tagalog. So now, it was turn for version four!
Making the Video
It seemed confusing to use the same art for two different songs, even though it's a popular piece of art. We asked Flux Klein to change the art, to turn the wargamer into a reincarnation of Napoleon:
Caption files were made in five languages this time, as is now customary for us.
The final step was to combine the music and the art with titles, using ClipChamp:
I've posted the new version as a reel on the TMP Facebook page. It has done well, with 25% of viewers coming from outside the wargaming community. As might be expected, the French captions are drawing in some French viewers. But I didn't expect to see larger numbers of Italians and New Zealanders on this one.
