How is South Korea and the United States on the list? Most communist really?

Aren't their only five Communist countries left – China, North Korea, Laos, Cuba, and Vietnam?

The only place that practices communism in China is Mao's hometown. While it is certainly authoritarian, communism hardly applies….I would venture to say that there are no true communist states at all.

Often talked about is how no nation has achieved true Communism yet, but my vote is North Korea were everyone but the party elite are in equal misery and that's as close as you can get.

I love it when people say there never has been a true communist state. Lots have tried but since they all failed, it's just a case of not doing it right. Kinda like someone flapping their arms to fly like a bird and when they fail saying they are just not doing it right.

I voted North Korea however it is technically jucheism, it's own slightly different version of communism. Either way horrible place – let's not go there.

The amazing thing is that more people voted for the USA as communist than several countries that the leaders would like to be. In America there are some states that push the boundaries but even the peoples republic's of Illinois or California have to present an image of listening to their voters.

Just my opinion, disagreement is good and the hallmark of a true republic.

I voted North Korea as China is not in its current iteration actually communist – at least in the sense that Marx and Lenin understood it – not that I would like to live in either place!

Plus I agree with the good Col – how the USA or Vatican City got on the list baffles me

Well, I voted USA on the default basis that if someone was dumb enough to suggest it then someone should be dumb enough to vote for it. So, basically as a service to the community.

Cuba is the only communist state and one can argue wither have those countries ever wear.
