When was this alleged time? Because I've been a historical miniature wargamer for 50 years and the oldest wargamers I knew had neither. |

When wargaming I always wear my farting jacket and enjoy a good fart or two per hour. |

I think someone has confused wargamers with actual generals enjoying a cigar, cognac and sending soldiers to their death. |

A farting jacket?! And I thought I was posh and sophisticated. |

I can't tell a "good" cigar from a "bad" cigar -- they all taste the same to me. |

My first knowledge of miniature war gaming was an article in Readers' Digest showing Brits gaming wearing ties, sweaters or jackets, enjoying adult beverages and smoking either pipes or cigars. This event has always informed my view of the game and is that to which I aspire. Sadly, only one of my friends shares that aspiration and the others no longer tolerate smoking nor desire to dress for the occasion. My own doctor has, of course, advised against such activity. My circle do still have adult beverages where appropriate whilst gaming. |

I do have a smoking jacket and several fez which can be quite useful in the winter months as our club is a bit cool. Have not smoked cigarettes, cigar or pipe in decades though. Gave it all up. |

Not since I got married. My wife is allergic so I gave them up. |
