Oh! 😱 Somehow Carousel wasn't nominated! |

Fantasia? I wasn't aware this creation had any songs. Music, yes, which drives the action and artistry, but AFAIK nobody burst out into song about what's happening in the story, or how the character is feeling. Incredible film all about music, yes, but not a musical. |

I just know that John voted for a musical that has a song "KIDS, WHAT'S A MATTER WITH KIDS TODAY" |

Again, Duck Soup is NOT a musical!! It has a couple of songs in it. But the plot does not involve music or dancing. The Marx brothers did not do musicals. They did comedy. |

I played a Scotsman in a college performance of "Brigadoon" many decades ago. Got to wear a kilt and danced and sang. Jim |

Did you hit the high notes in "Go Home to Bonnie Jean"? |

Oh, wait. Ignore that last comment. I've worn out an album and 2 tapes of the BROADWAY Camelot. The movie version was decidedly inferior. Bad Arthur, tone deaf Guinevere and flat Lancelot. Carry on, and ignore that. |

Bye Bye Birdie is worth it if only for Paul Lynde's "I love you, Ed!" exclamation in the sequence about Ed Sullivan! That's one funny movie. And Janet Leigh as a brunette! Crazy, man. We love you Conrad, oh yes we do…/ we don't love anyone as much as you…" -- launched a thousand parodies, perhaps beginning with the Fab Four Beatles a year later! |
