Why is it there's a new proposal to discourage posting on TMP every few weeks?

I suppose it is due to the fallen nature of Man.

I dunno. Whatever. Seems to me too many good people have left over teacup thunderstorms in the past to be stirring the pot with changes in a punishment system that apparently doesn't work all that well to begin with. I sympathize with the Editors, but maybe it's time to let things be. But "Not my circus, not my monkeys," applies.

Please note that this proposal did not come from the editors, Parzival, but from a community member.

Would "letting things be" mean to lower the bar on which personal attacks are allowed? Or would it mean allowing political comments on the main forum? That's what most Dawghousings are for.

Who cares, with just one poll a day, the world is bleak and depressing place and nothing matters anymore.

the world is bleak and depressing place and nothing matters anymore.

That's just because you live in Norway. ;)

You must not say that, Gunfreak! Having a clear field of fire, having support for your guns and having a reserve in hand always matter. Other than that, you're right, of course.

It seems like we already have something along that line. I have yet to see anyone banned without first making quite a few trips to the DH.

If this were to become the "law of the land" then I would suggest that the follow-on sentences would only apply if they were close enough in time.

i.e. tow offenses in the same quarter escalate if they were a year apart don't escalate.(exactly where to put this escalation point is tricky but would make it seem more fair) It might also encourage someone to deescalate rather than dive into the fray if there is hope to not go into eternal dawghouse.

I have been dawghoused in the past but it has been quite a while, I try to be as good as can be expected of an Army Ranger. So perhaps no change is needed after all.

Yes, no, um can I just vote twice?
Does seem to me a long period of no housing should clear your plate.
