I wouldn't call "My Favorite Year" (1982) a pirate movie but it is one of my favorite comedies. Peter O' Toole as a swashbuckler is priceless. link

I see we're falling back on the traditional TMP rite/right of being snooty about classification. Just don't vote for it. I didn't. I voted for COMEDIES that washed some buckles. I'm just as guilty. I'll tell anyone who will listen, and some who won't, that Star Wars is not sci-fi. It's fantasy, with wizards and magic swords!

Are smugglers considered "pirates"? 🙄 I don't think so. I don't recall him taking cargo by force. Or, Force? 🤔 You're the first to say to complainers "Well, why didn't you nominate him?" Make a retroactive Editorial decision and nominate him if you feel that badly. Use one of my blocked socks!

The formerly canon books, which are no longer canon (🙄), may have references to Han's piratical past. I don't consider … hijacking piracy. I'll leave that to our maritime lawyers. I'm assuming that maritime law is easily adapted to space.
