Miss Pennsylvania! Did I get it right?

Mapleleaf09 Feb 2012 6:45 a.m. PST

Talk about outdated polls. Miss USA for 2011 is Alyssa Campanella, Miss California and the bookies choice going into the pageant

Mostly, I don't care. But for the sake of state loyalty, I chose Miss Tennessee. (And no, I did not seek out any photos of any of the participants.)

Buff Orpington09 Feb 2012 6:55 a.m. PST

Is that a scar running down Miss Alababa'a abdomen?

Maddaz11109 Feb 2012 7:11 a.m. PST

What, you mean they are not shots of the same woman with diffrent hair styles…

(Actually I am not that impressed with any of them, but then again I am pretty much against the meat market of beauty pageants)

These people are being defined by their looks, not by the fact that they may be …

Intelligent,
Generous,
Loving,
Humane or Human,
Caring,

I also think that the mind is the most lovely part of the Human body, and that is the most shocking thing to lose when you lose a loved one, I mean, I can keep pictures… but that spark is now lost for ever.

I also think this is pretty poor taste for a poll – Could we have at least some clothes on these poor Girls.

Omemin09 Feb 2012 7:19 a.m. PST

Miss Maine is from Topsfield. I've been through Topsfield. It is literally four corners and a general store.

PzGeneral09 Feb 2012 7:21 a.m. PST

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't ask any of them to leave……

brass109 Feb 2012 7:36 a.m. PST

Same girl, different wig. I'd vote for the one not obviously produced in a cloning vat.

I don't watch cattle shows anymore.

I, also for the sake of state loyalty, pick Miss Mississippi.

I didn't either.

Interesting premise

Does "Miss" imply that all these young women are unfettered with spouses?

Scorpio09 Feb 2012 9:49 a.m. PST

Yet another timely and relevant poll from TMP.

Next up: can Dewey defeat Truman?

John the Greater09 Feb 2012 10:12 a.m. PST

I'd vote for the one not obviously produced in a cloning vat

The Bene Tleilax are not amused.

COL Scott0again09 Feb 2012 10:55 a.m. PST

I voted that I will not participate.

Beacause THERE IS ALREADY A WINNER. Seven months after the contest we vote, really????

Oh perhaps the intent was for someone to create "historical" miniatures of the contest so it can be wargamed.

What rules, what scale, will it be a campaign or single game? The questions keep coming.

Attractive women are always a good thing. I've never been a "feminist."

MajorB09 Feb 2012 11:12 a.m. PST

Miss Piggy

He did OK at Manilla. Why not?

grin

Even with these pics, subjects notwithstanding, some are better pictures than others and some may be perfect pics but taken at just the wrong moment in terms of angle, shadow, or expression on the woman's face.

I'll pick whoever won.

I'll pick Miss Congeniality. She will need cheering up.

These people are being defined by their looks…

That's OK. I am a shallow person.

BTW, besides some FOX News babes and Vanessa Williams, who has ever heard of a beauty contest winner 2 years after?

I hate to break this to you, but running the poll in a more timely manner would not have had any influence on the outcome of events. However, it does give us an excuse to look through 51 photographs of beautiful young women.

BTW, besides some FOX News babes and Vanessa Williams, who has ever heard of a beauty contest winner 2 years after?

Well, there's the lady in all the diabetes commercials, giving away free cookbooks…

brass109 Feb 2012 9:33 p.m. PST

I'd vote for the one not obviously produced in a cloning vat

At least the Bene Gesserit breed them for intelligence.

One hopes your visit was as enjoyable for you as it was for us, although Janet has been asking pointed questions as to the whereabouts of the silverware.

I am voting for the anorexic anorexic.

Trying to not pick one that has an eating disorder and is stupid is kind of like trying to pick a stripper that doesn't have issues and a drug habit.

archstanton7310 Feb 2012 11:29 a.m. PST

They all look very alike!!!No entry for John OFM himself??!!

Angel Barracks10 Feb 2012 12:09 p.m. PST

Maryland or Minnesota.
It is a toss up between the two…

Ermintrude10 Feb 2012 1:20 p.m. PST

It is a toss up between the two…
Now THAT made me laugh!

Wargames Widows10 Feb 2012 1:25 p.m. PST

Miss Connecticut is a bit foxy. I thought Mr Wargames Widows might have gone for her but apparently not.

ochoin deach10 Feb 2012 3:08 p.m. PST

Personally, I'm in favour of Beauty Pageants.

It gives these poor girls something to do. Otherwise they'd probably be sitting home, alone, watching re-runs of Gilligan's Island.

No ta, she is funny lookin'

J Womack 9410 Feb 2012 3:40 p.m. PST

I dated the daughter of a former Miss Texas in high school. Looked like her momma. Rowr.

And I would have voted for Miss Texas, out of loyalty for the Republic.

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER10 Feb 2012 4:03 p.m. PST

who has ever heard of a beauty contest winner 2 years after?

Yeah, what ever became of Anita Bryant and Phylis George?
(Granted they were Miss Americas…)

Rebelyell200613 Feb 2012 1:08 p.m. PST

Did somebody say three-way?

gounour15 Feb 2012 11:23 p.m. PST

+1 for miss Piggy

I'll vote she's made Miss world 1950-2050, and we devote the money gained into rehab' programs for those poor girls who would have lost to her anyway!
