Colonel Sanders has to be everyone's favourite. Vegans excused.

It's interesting that in later life the title Theodore Roosevelt preferred to go by was "Colonel"

I certainly like TR as President; don't know much about his role as a colonel. Though I've heard his name in reference to the ‘rough riders' during the Spanish-American War. I have to go with Col. Chamberlain for his role at Gettysburg.

Not to "pick bones" but Roosevelt was only the lieutenant colonel of the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry Regiment although he did command it in battle as the colonel, Leonard Wood, was commanding the 2nd Cavalry Brigade.

Again not to "pick bones" but Colonel Sanders (who I had the honor of meeting briefly in the last year of his life) was a Kentucky Colonel, which is a civil, not a military, title; Colonel Sanders did serve in the US Army but was a muleteer in 1906-7

By the end of the Span-Am War Roosevelt was a full colonel and he was commanding a cavalry brigade. During WWI he asked to be given command of an American division in France. Some made fun of him for wanting such a thing, but in fact he was as qualified as any of the American division commanders Over There. The French and British thought it was an excellent idea, but Wilson hated him and wouldn't allow it.

So do we have wait for Round 1c for Col Mustard?

I voted for other. Namely Colonel Richard Bole who Commanded his own regiment for the Royalists in the English Civil War.

My reason is that he is my ancestor.
