While a good poll, I wonder if the time span might not be a bit unfortunate – after all, while the Ferret was a good little armoured car for its time, we did learn a lot about AFV design between 1948 (Ferret) and 2000 (Stryker)

Yeah but you could really cheese off Beemers by overtaking them on the motorway in a ferret!

Once again, the 8-wheeled Italian tank/recon vehicle doesn't make the list.

No mention of the BTR-70, or 80 either.

Mako11 Good point,
Italian B1 Centauro Tank Destroyer is that the one you mean?
I remember looking at pics of that one when making one of my wheeled vehicles.

Just noticed JB have done an etch kit for the Trumpeter model.

Always liked the V100 since they patrolled the base perimeter at Tan Son Nhut. We also had some in Minot, ND, to escort the bomb convoys out to the missile silos.

Btr-60 has some serious longevity to it but the Striker is extremely battle tested.

Why get excited over something that isn't an artillery piece?

Best at what?

Always liked the Rooikat, ever since I saw a load of dignitaries' children shinning along and hanging from the barrel of one on the Denel stand.

Best at winning polls

While the BTR-70 has certainly seen a lot of service, the thin armour, crappy exits and problematic engines are not what I would call award winning

BTR-80 is a horse of a different colour

I agree that the Centauro is certainly cool to look at!

nothing more elegant than a Saladin or a Ferrit

Strykers are the best at having accidents with themselves, catching fire, falling off railcars…

At least here in Pennsylvania.

I can't say they're very good at anything else.

Fuchs, humble long reliable history. As for Stryker being battle tested ….against insurgents yes.
