If I was to do this without much notice, in order to familiarise myself with a new set of rules, I'd be using a home modified variation on 'Nuts'.

Not sure, though I've purchased a few, so will watch this with interest.

There is also a FUBAR option too, that looks pretty good, and includes more than the usual, basic set of one-page rules – several pages, for various types of warfare and support (e.g. artillery rules), so they are worth checking into as well.

Currenly use Charlie Company, but have a copy of Charlie don't surf from two fat lardies which I want to try out.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

Wizard Whateley30 Mar 2015 5:32 p.m. PST

Piquet Forgotten Heroes.

To quote a friend who was asked to play in a Vietnam game at a local convention, "Why? It wasn't any fun the first time."

I voted for Force on Force, but I'll also second Mako11's FUBAR recommendation.

I use a modified Charlie Company hybrid. Second choice would be Piquet FH.

Doesn't attract me any more than the current conflicts.

Same here, but one of my friends is particularly interested in that period. Good way to get him into war gaming.

All is fair in love and… wargames…

I would probably modify Memoir '44.

Bodycount.

Charlie Don't Surf is one of the few that actually give each side different objectives and playstyles.

If I was to game it today, I'd probably just use Stargrunt though.

I'm surprised Firebase Vietnam wasn't included. So I voted for the next best thing, BAPS.

Ambush Valley.

Cos I wrote it and can almost remember the rules… almost.
