It is unlikely that aliens would come to earth to refuel or to obtain resources. These can be found more easily in the Oort cloud or asteroid belt and avoid the earths gravitational well. |

Fleeing some other threat? Need some masters of 'primitive combat' to help them? |

Depends a lot on how close to human the aliens are, and how cheap the trip. But I can see how our entertainment value could be very high. I spend a lot of time at the swamp monkey and banded mongoose sections of the local zoo, and I can see how we could be a lot funnier then either--to someone who knew he could leave at any time, of course. |

Could be for pure exploration – to conquer we would need something worth conquering! |

Frederick, williamb, for all either of you know, Earth contains 90% of all the narativium in this quadrant. Like to make a list of all the stuff around here which was worthless--until some bright fellow raised us a fraction of a tech level? No reason to think the process has stopped. Anyhow, I'd decide what sort of game I wanted to put on or what sort of story I wanted to tell, and let everything else be driven by that. In the complete absence of evidence, we might as well. |
