It is unlikely that aliens would come to earth to refuel or to obtain resources. These can be found more easily in the Oort cloud or asteroid belt and avoid the earths gravitational well.

Depends a lot on how close to human the aliens are, and how cheap the trip. But I can see how our entertainment value could be very high.
