It's happened once or twice I've accidentally bought a new Wolf Grey when what needed replacing was the Ghost Grey or the like. More annoyingly, a webstore once sent me a pot of Scorpion Green in lieu of the Goblin Green I'd ordered. When I complained they told me to sent back the Scorpion and they'd send the Goblin instead. A week or so later, a brand new Scorpion Green arrived in the post. Never ordered anything from them again. |

Happens TOO frequently for me. I'll buy a color of craft paint, then they have a sale on paints so I go buy a bunch…find out that 1 or 2 are duplicates Well my brother does refer to me as a "paint ". |

It does happen a lot when I was buying paint. I had to start a spreadsheet to keep track of them. Then kept it on Goggle Drive so I can pull it up on my phone when at the FLAGS. I have since moved to an app called Paint Rack. But I will check out Model Colors |

I voted "Other (explain)". I used to have this issue when I was buying hobby brand paints. When I switched to artist paints, the tubes/bottles contain more paint, and the range is limited so it's easy to get a full set and then stop. I do have to blend to make full triads, and the paint is thick and has to be thinned, but I've progressed more as a painter by learning these techniques. Also the artist paints can be airbrushed, so I stopped buying separate paints for the airbrush, and also need fewer spray cans. I do feel bad that I can't support hobby stores by buying paints there, but art stores need my support too. |

There are colors I use enough of that buying an extra to have on hand just makes sense. |

I used to keep a spreadsheet on my portable devices listing all my paint. Split up by maker. Just simply to avoid multiples of most colors. Now, some craft paints I keep multiples on purpose. Certain browns and greys I keep on the desk with the hot wire table for buildings. And a match next to my painting desk for other things. |

Usually happens when I'm in a store with a nice selection of paints. I'll buy the one or two that I actually came there for and then think: "Oh, that one's nice. And that one. And that one…" And I buy half a dozen bottles only to find I already have two of them. :) |

Sometimes – mostly because I live a fair distance from the friendly local game shop so sometimes I buy extra bottles of the paints I use frequently – and sometimes I just forget I had that bottle! |

Many times the same color I buy, usually so I do not over the weekend run out. But ought not the poll English grammar to follow? |

Sometimes happens when I get a replacement for a paint that I almost used up.Then I get home and find that I already bought it the week before.
