Let me call up my cousin, Eugene the Hun. He's a Hun, after all.

Might be dark brown, might be light brown, might be a golden brown, might be a brownish tan… whatever strikes me as looking good. Not all that fussed about bow colors, to be honest.

In fantasy, I did give my dwarf archers ivory-colored bows, thinking that as dwarves they'd probably craft bows out of the bones of cave creatures rather than wood. But that was just an attempt to be different, not anything based on real world bows (or real world bones). Plus, fantasy, so not part of the poll's assumption.

Don't know, let me look.

Every bow I paint is "Yellow tan".

They are tiny in 2mm scale so need a bright colour to stand out.

The Chinese sometimes used cinnabar to color their bows vermilion-red. There are illustrations of Japanese bows with alternating light and dark bands. One color illustration shows green and yellow.

My bows are of different colours. although each unit has the same colour. My most recent ones are as Major B's, reddish brown on the inside, a light sandy colour on the outside
