This is exactly why I started writing my own rules ten years ago. Just because a game includes lots of pages and a four-page "QRS" doesn't make it any good.

I don't know how you would list this, but for me, it is rules that make players sit around as one person moves and resolves everything.

Rules lawyers who pre measure everything . So it's the players more often than the rules

Familiarity with more complex rules systems can be part of the rules lawyer piece. The more a rule set is used – I find the faster it goes as a rule

A Bad scenario can also derail a game

Not be prepared for the game as a host as well

Bad scenario and setting up impossible victory conditions or objectives relative to the rules used. For example, if a unit is required to March the width of a six foot table in four turns, but the fastest movement rate is 8 inches, then it is impossible for a player reach the objective in the time allowed.
