Since Hawkwood was from Essex……not really an Italian Condottiere.

And Cesare Borgia wasn't really a Condottiere either – he was commander of the Papal Forces. Some of these were mercenaries, but not all. He later commanded troops as the Duke of the Romagna. In this position he hired condottieri to fight for him.
