I've read all 7 of the books, and can't stand the little twerp.
I'm Team Voldemort.
No. He's not more interesting. Nobody in those books are. It's just faculty politics with magic. I just hate Harry P that much.

Gee Winston, don't hold back! LOL I never liked the concept of the Harry Potter books, never bothered to read them or watch the movies.

I'm reminded of a letter a kid sent to R.L. Stine: "I've read 48 of your books, and I didn't like any of them".

Ha you see that with computer games too. On steam users can review games they have bought. And you have people with literally hundreds of hundreds of hours in a game. Giving it a bad reviews.

What can I say? It's maddening when you have to see "what happens next" when you hate everything the series!

At least I cut the cord with the "Tom Clancy" books after Tom Clancy died. It just didn't seem …..

I have noticed a trend among my friends who normally don't read fantasy but read HP. Those with young kids got into the series and really loved it and those without never did. Reading it with the kids as they grew older during the writing of the series was fun for me.

My kids are in college but they still binge watch LOTR and HP movies every break. No interest in the latest movies or books set in the HP universe though.

Winston, have you read "The Magicians" by Lev Grossman? The first book is filled with young Tom Riddles – in general most of the characters are unlikable and flawed little gits who struggle with life as they get older. I have not read the rest of the series yet but it certainly isn't HP.
