I have no idea who these people are. Is that pathetic or what? |
Winston Smith | 18 Sep 2014 5:22 a.m. PST |
No it's not pathetic. They are underrated for a reason. So I chose 5 at random. |

I picked Benjamin Rush. But, hey, I'm from PA… and the man did some service in health and psychiatry. Chalfant |

I voted for Virginians. Because…well because Virginians are like that. |

My votes aren't going on the right people. That bug again ! |

Talk about underrated, I don't even see Madison on the list!!! |
Florida Tory | 18 Sep 2014 9:03 p.m. PST |
Perhaps that because Madison is not one of the founding fathers. He did not take a seat in the Continental Congress until 1780. |
DWilliams | 19 Sep 2014 10:27 a.m. PST |
I'll not vote until Dr. Charles Warren is added to the list! |
Cerdic | 19 Sep 2014 11:41 a.m. PST |
I don't know who any of them are either. But I have an excuse, I'm not American! There seem to be an awful lot of these founding fathers. Were they all really necessary? |
Winston Smith | 19 Sep 2014 8:32 p.m. PST |
Somebody has to empty the wastebaskets after Jefferson has filled them with 3rd and 4th drafts. That's where Stepman Brewster comes in. WHAT????? He's not one of the choices??? |
goragrad | 19 Sep 2014 11:50 p.m. PST |
Madison wrote the Constitution. At least in my books that makes him a Founding Father… |

There seem to be an awful lot of these founding fathers. Were they all really necessary? "Success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan." – attributed to Tacitus |

I voted "other," as a nod to Pelatiah Webster, one of Washington's staff officers who then was instrumental in setting up the new nation's financial system. Monroe later claimed that it was Webster who first said "These Articles of Confederation stink! We need a more robust Constitution!" (I paraphrase) Underrated? As of last summer, the poor guy didn't even have a Wikipedia page! And I spent several fruitless hours searching for his grave in an overgrown cemetery in Philadelphia. |

Benjamin Rush and George Wythe because they were very influential. Cesar Rodney is the guy on the back of the Delaware quarter. Rushed home from the lines to cast a vote. |
