Precision and accuracy are two entirely different things. Allow pre-measuring (it's just a game). The dice will screw you over either way. |

Premeasurement may or not be allowed by the rule set. I go by the rule set if specified and don't care either way if it is not specified. |

dmclellan +1. If the rules forbid it, then no pre-measuring. |

Depends on the rules. I prefer rules that allow you to pre-measure, and assume you can if they don't say, but if the rules say you can't I normally respect that. |

You know, some days I'm not sure what the "pre-poll discussion" is there for. Half a dozen of us must have said "depends on the rules" but it's still not an option in the poll. |

Yup. Depends on the rules. I'm good either way. |

I actually haven't played a game where you couldn't measure distances before hand, assuming it was possible to do so. (With the possible exception of Wings of Glory, whose WWI bombing rules have deliberate in-precision mixed in. But there it feels okay, given it's a game about rickety-wood-and-cloth aircraft attempting military actions no one had ever tried before. And of course, the movement and maneuvering are dictated by cards, with no rulers involved, making premeasuring not exactly possible.) |

I always say it's better to allow pre-measure because too many rules lawyers will fiddle about with ways to get around a rule like that anyway. So put everyone on an equal level. It hurts no one. As someone said, the dice will equalize all anyway. |

Other – depends on the rules being used. Jim |

Perhaps the option will be available in round 1a, Robert. I'm amused to be able to select up to 5 options. |
