Just curious; why are so many opposed to this board?

I know why I would not support this new board, the civilian figures would need to be divided into all the various time and geographical slots so will need 20 boards, not one. I would prefer them to be put into the relevant existing section.

Concur with Dagwood. Discussion of civilians relate strongly with discussions of their other genre figures. They don't relate strongly across genres.

for a lot of sci-fic
the mixing of genres is a great if not common thing

among others
I'm mixing PP ACW,WW2, and VN civilians
all for the same game

but
I do believe that civilians wound need to be split out by size/scale

I do this all the time as well.

But if I wanted to investigate ACW and WWII civvies (colours, class appropriate dress, crowd composition), I wouldn't want to wade through 300 articles on ancients before I find out that due to rationing, grey wool pants are most common and nobody but the ultra rich has a new pair of shoes in the last four years.

Another for Dagwood

I am interested in civilian figures but like the others have said, civilians are best put in their respective time periods.
It's not like civilians from the 1940s would be of any use in a game set in the 1200s.
