My vote is for Rebel Minis giant bugs. But, that is mostly because I don't play much 15mm sci-fi yet and I really needed those bugs for my Starship Troopers 28mm collection.

Surprised CMG Protolene are not more popular. A great variety of poses their.

Pictors Studio26 Jan 2012 12:08 p.m. PST

By far my favourite on that list are the Ixx. They are exactly what I imagine bug aliens to be like. I have about 40 of them painted so far.

Allen5726 Jan 2012 1:45 p.m. PST

Really like Khurasan's JTFB fire teams and their vespulid swarm.

stenicplus26 Jan 2012 2:34 p.m. PST

Kraytonians. Just for the gunships.

Must have missed the pre-poll otherwise I'd have suggested them.

WillieB26 Jan 2012 4:13 p.m. PST

Astragar snake – men by Critical mass. Hope they expand the range later on.

Little Big Wars26 Jan 2012 4:15 p.m. PST

The Pelagic Dominate as a whole are some of the best aliens out there.

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER26 Jan 2012 5:07 p.m. PST

Peter pig martians as I too missed the pre poll.

RAFM Vargr

Komorigumo26 Jan 2012 5:55 p.m. PST

I second the Citadel Vargr/RAFM Warhounds of Sirius.

Umpapa27 Jan 2012 5:00 a.m. PST

I vote also for
Oddzial Osmy Space Worms,
Battlestations's Canosian,
CMG Ygs.

corporalpat27 Jan 2012 5:00 a.m. PST

Another vote for RAFM Vargrs…my long time favorite. Also Khurasan's Chewks…my newest favorite. You just can't beat a drill tank! thumbs up

Jojojimmyjohn27 Jan 2012 7:42 a.m. PST

Harook! Beware the mighty space chickens!

Cacique Caribe27 Jan 2012 7:57 a.m. PST

By "Other", I mean the GZG Alien Mercenaries, Khurasan's Parasachnids and Mantis Stalkers.

Didn't Dropship Horizon have a much longer list somewhere of 15mm Aliens and their manufacturers?

Dan
PS. By the way, Spugs are from Spriggan Miniatures, not Pole Bitwy, right?

Scorpio27 Jan 2012 8:36 a.m. PST

My 'other' vote is for the Blue Moon Twanax. Lots of character.

picture

Although the CMG Kaamados are a definite runner-up.

clkeagle27 Jan 2012 9:19 a.m. PST

Yes, the Spugs are from Spriggan. That needs to be corrected.

I also vote Mad Robot Harook and Critical Mass Ygs.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP27 Jan 2012 9:32 a.m. PST

Harook are definitely now in my top 5. Zas from CMG are very cool too but need to be expanded.

commanderroj27 Jan 2012 10:05 a.m. PST

I would vote for the Harook, but 25mm is just to big for me in 15mm. I can handle the size difference conceptually, just not aesthetically. Maybe i should get some to go with my GZG 25mm New Israeli.

Wolfprophet27 Jan 2012 10:29 a.m. PST

They're big, but they're not 25mm….. I'll post a pic of one next to some well known stuff later tonight.

Where are the Aphids?

Dropship Horizon27 Jan 2012 10:39 a.m. PST

Im disappointed Critical Mass Games wasnt better represented in the poll.

I went for Khurasan's Felids. I have approx 80 of them and like them as my favourite non human bipedal force.

Cheers
Mark

Yeah, CMG has some really great Aliens that didn't get mentioned.

Thanks,

John

Where are the Aphids?

Unfortunately all over my bloody tomato plants!

Skipper27 Jan 2012 12:56 p.m. PST

I think a poll like this would have been better if a sample picture of each was in place. Yes I've seen many and have my favorites, but some I've never seen before and don't have the time to hunt them down (pun intended). An image of each would also give exposure to the lesser known ones.

Just my opinion, and we know what they are worth. ; )

Do alternative do the Trimotes now ?

Was Asgard, then Tab;etop then TTG then 15mm.co.uk link

Blue Moon Twanax & Khurasan Mantis Stalkers.

noimtheotherguy28 Jan 2012 10:49 a.m. PST

Out of all of those I only have a few Black Hat Green Martians as commanders (they are taller and more detailed) for my Peter Pig Green Martians.

Let's see, my other 15mm aliens:

The figures from Nexus Ops, painted. The Fungus Men are converted into Blue Martians.

MJ Figures 15mm space orcs.

Various from Alternative Armies.

Red, Black, Yellow and White Martians converted from somebody else' rather lanky orcs.

I am presently working on some plastic spiders I got from a party store and converted into Starship Troopers Bugs (the ones from the book, with beam weapons).

Guess I'm behind the times.

noimtheotherguy28 Jan 2012 10:59 a.m. PST

Correction: I also have Hordes of the Future Crusaders. Nice figures, and would be easy to paint as 15mm Eldar, but, somehow, I've never gotten around to it.

15mm.Co.Uk is Alternative Armies – they just split the 15mm ranges off to a separate storefront. The names are used fairly interchangeably on forums, blogs, etc.
