Leonidas wasn't even on the original list, but he could count as "underrated", despite being the most famous Spartan of all. We unfortunately don't know much else about his life apart from Thermopylae (oh, if only Plutarch's biography had survived!), but indications are he was a shrewd and able diplomat as well as general of a disparate group of ad hoc allies, who he knocked into fighting shape and led in a successful defense of the pass against an army that must have boggled every Greek citizen-soldier's mind. Given enough men, he might have won the Persian War early.

Its for OVERLOOKED GREEK GENERAL!

He ia surely not underated in my book, in fact he is one of only 3 Greek generals I could name
