Only could vote on the one I had seen -- "A Bridge Too Far." Jim |

I had also seen "The Bedford Incident" but there are limits to how far I'll stretch "based on a true story." "A Bridge Too Far" is first-rate film-making. |

"The Bedford Incident" (1965) is a classic Cold War flick. Had a great cast. Not based on a true story but it does reflect the Cold War tensions of the time. I like how the film includes a West German Naval Officer (Eric Portman) who was an ex-U-boat captain during WW II. Cast includes, Richard Widmark, James MacArthur, Sidney Poitier, Wally Cox and Martin Balsam. link YouTube link ps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZe1Rq0lLAk imdb.com/title/tt0058962

Wow -- I CANNOT understand why Colditz is not here -- neither the 1950s movie The Colditz Story, nor the superb BBC series from the 1970s. Flawed poll! |

Dear Editor only includes in Polls what had been nominated in Poll Suggestions. So, yes it should have been in the Poll. But nobody bothered to nominate it. 🤷 |

What I don't understand is why The Bling Ring is there – it is a pretty good movie but it is about a bunch of LA teenagers robbing celebrities houses – not much military there |

Poll said historical, not military. |

Hola, OFM! I do not normally see the poll suggestions posts, or look for them. So I had no chance to put in a plug for a Colditz flick. But why don't I see these previews? I typically only see these "Poll" offerings as results, post facto. (On the main page, left sideline, that's how they display on my old Firefox browser.) |

OC, I'd agree. A classic. But not based on a true story. |
