This seems phrased on purpose to be unhelpful and possibly uninteresting. Short answer is that no preceding generation played with miniatures unless you count ships in a bottle.

A younger brother followed my example briefly, and my son had quite a set of fantasy and SF at one time, but brother quite after a year or so, and the son does nothing but computer games now. We'll see whether he takes up miniatures again when he has more time, but it seems unlikely. So the answer on the poll would be "yes" but the practical answer is that I wasn't following any family example, and my own example wasn't enough to secure a next generation.

My mother took up doll's house miniatures after retirement. Does that count ?

I would think so.

My father had a brief interest in plastic modeling, which is what got me into that hobby – but his interest was limited to assembling a few models, not painting.

I've tried to interest nieces and nephews in miniature wargaming, both as a hobby and as job opportunities, but had no luck.

Yes -- My father was a model railroader for many years in the 1950s and 1960s. And my son has a large collection of fantasy and science fiction figures.

Nope. I'm the odd duck.
I have a niece who likes board games, and a younger cousin who used to LARP, but that's it.
I love ‘em all, but wargamers they are not.

My dad was a plastic modeller and No. 2 son is a very good painter (better than me, must admit) and loves to game; work out well as he likes to play Orks and I like to play Dwarves

My brother is a mini game player. My Dad did assemble some plastic kits of my older brother's ships he was on.

Two of my brothers and my son (if you count D&D) have suffered from this mini disease for many moons.

My father used to cast and paint Prince August semiflats, but I don't think he's ever played a minis game.

My little brother's a lapsed minis gamer.

Kids, yes. This time my dad did paint military miniatures. He didn't wargame, but we did work on projects together.

We also blew some of the models up with firecrackers together.

Now, no one in my family does minis you would usually think. My mother does doll houses. Making food is her specialty. Use to sell loads of it on eBay. Regular customers across the country. Looking to get into it again.
