Would like to try it sometime, though expense and knowledge keep me from trying on 15mm

I have one but only use it on occasion for certain models, particularly aircraft.

I tried one a few times on plastic Great War aeroplanes. I made a sloppy mess. I didn't improve, so I switched to spray cans.

I use an airbrush on vehicle camo. Outside of that no.

No space here for the spray booth, etc, so I haven't used them for a couple of years. But they are great for:

Undercoating figures and resin terrain- and you can pick or mix the exact undercoat colour you want.

Base-coating and some detail work on vehicles, aircraft, equipment, heavy weapons and terrain items.

Cam patterns and weathering on vehicles and aircraft.

Varnish coats.

I tried, and failed miserably, to use my dual action one for shading/highlighting figures.

I've found my airbrushes are less messy, easier to clean up after, more controllable and cheaper, in the long run, than rattle cans (especially hobby rattle cans). But there's a bit of a learning curve, so I understand why some people prefer rattlers.

I use it for priming, base color and for dull coating.

I don't use an airbrush for painting miniatures.

I don't use an airbrush any more.

Yes to both. I was airbrushing models not figures and I don't use an airbrush anymore.
