I have a lamp I use largely for painting, but there's nothing special about it except it's mounted on my painting table. |

I use an array of LED lamps not specifically made for painting but do fairly closely match daylight. As they are not made for the job I voted never. I dread them breaking as they are no longer manufactured and those replacing them are made to match incandescent lamps. I have a number of them they do not give as good light for painting. x42 |

It depends whether I am painting inside the house or outside. I do use a specific lamp when painting inside, as it gives the brightest artificial light that I have available. When I paint outside, I don't need a lamp. |

Almost all of my painting is inside the house and I have a very nice LED light that our neighbours gave me that provides a lot of light Sometimes I paint outside in the summer but 95% plus of my painting is done with a light |

I use a special OTT light for painting miniatures. For large items such as terrain, I do not use anything special. |

I use a ceiling light made up of four small, bright, spotlights. They are carefully positioned so that one shines over each shoulder ! So I count them as a special painting light. Much better than a table mounted light, which always seems to shine straight into my eyes no matter where it is positioned. |

Yep, but it's new and not actually been used for the job yet. I had another dedicated halogen desk lamp from Ikea. It got knocked off the table and broke. The new one is a "not-OTT" crafting light (LEDs) with a built in magnifying glass on a gooseneck (separate from the light). Got it on clearance for $10 USD at a Hobby Lobby. I expect I'll get some time to use it soon as the holidays come up. |

I have an OTT light for the table and daylight bulbs in the ceiling lights. They help with painting, reading and computer use. |
