I like plain glazed donuts. I do not like Krispy Kreme. they are too sweet. |

Boston Creme Donuts were brought to earth by the gods. Or aliens. Either way I fully appreciate their gift. Burp. |

I realize my capability to discuss donuts in English knows some limits. |

All of them. But I'm partial to Trader Joe's annual fall Apple Cider cake donuts with sugar and cinnamon and the traditional hole in the center. Krispy Kreme are meant to be eaten hot and fresh off the line— they melt in your mouth. Wash down with milk. Otherwise they're good, but not great. Locally we have Ellie's Donuts, which only sells from their food truck at the local farmer's market on weekends, or at community events. Their cake sugar and cinnamon donuts are fantastic. And of course they sell hot apple cider to go with them. People will stand in line in freezing weather for these, and they're worth the effort! |

A blueberry cake doughnut is my go-to favorite. Jim |

Ah the choices, maple bar, vanilla cake with coconut, perhaps an apple fritter. When I shop for donuts it is a combination of what my taste buds want and what they have on the shelf. The important thing is to get good donuts, not the basic grocery store made. |

I'd rant about three different options describing the same product, and I know everyone expects it of me, but it's a full day. Can I get a raincheck? For me--back when the VA permitted me doughnuts--the old fashioned cake doughnut, maple flavored with matching frosting. But doughnuts may be even more a matter of taste than Napoleonic rules. I will now stand by for UshCha to tell us all we're eating the wrong doughnuts in the wrong way. |

Devil's food chocolate cake doughnuts deserve a shout-out. But my faves are traditional cinnamon and sugar cake doughnuts. Apple cider are very close. Mrs. Johnson's on Airport Blvd. in central Austin is the hands-down best doughnut bakery of my life. |

Now, I know this is going to sound a bit like a Wsrgames Developments kind of idea, but I'm thinking about a flying saucer game with the saucers powered by doughnuts. Each player would deploy power against different resources using a pack of doughnuts. In combat some would be expended (eaten) until the engines are out of power or the shields drop. If this were a multiplayer each side game then if the crew get hungry there could be unexpected systems failures… |

I haven't had too many bad donuts. It depends what I am in the mood for. A pretzel donut by "Stan the Donut Man" is at the top of my list. |
