Neither is a big fave but the SCW has some more interest because of potential family ties. |

I own quite a bit of SCW stuff, whereas for RCW I just play with other peoples toys. |

I don't play either, but if I did, it'd be RCW. I feel like that'd be more skirmish-y than SCW. |

SCW, and it's nothing but skirmish stuff with Chain of Command offering coverage for the period and Empress offering some of the best castings on the market. Rick |

Really doesn't matter because with either of those you get to kill Communists. |

I love both periods! SCW I do in 20mm and RCW 15mm and soon 10mm, mainly because I want the armored train! |

I have both. I also agree with Mithmee |

Not that the Fascists in the SCW were very nice people either. I'll play either war, and either side, if some one else does the heavy lifting. Both could be comedies if it weren't for the dead. |

I have RCW stuff and have always wanted to do SCW. Both are interesting conflicts that the average gamer tends to have no idea about. Trying to figure out the SCW can be an exercise in madness with all the abbreviated organizations. Luckily, I have a friend from Spain who doesn't mind explaining and translating :) "Not that the Fascists in the SCW were very nice people either." This is probably one of the unintentionally funniest things I've read on this board :) |

:) I sometimes prefer understated humour. I was responding to Mithmee's "you get to kill Communists" I sympathize with the International Brigades and their idealism, but it does seem that the Soviet 'advisors' were a bigger threat to the Republic than Franco's Fascists…. |

I have minis that work with RCW and would be a stretch for SCW so I don't have the option – but if I did, I don't think I would do SCW only because – in my humble opinion – there are a lot of innocent victims and no good guys I would totally concede that I do not know a lot about SCW, though |
Sergeant Paper | 20 Dec 2014 10:35 p.m. PST |
If I was gaming either I'd do RCW using the Perfect Captain's "Red Action" and "Beyond the River Don" rules and campaign. Lots of odd units, and enough reprehensible units on either side that you don't mind eliminating… |

I'm an RCW player myself, but I'd happily play an SCW game that someone else put on! The RCW is basically bastards all the way down. Good guys? I think you're looking in the wrong war… |

Long time SCW player in 20mm. Interesting conflict with crazy units on both sides. Though the RCW is much the same…..never got interested in it. I blame Pat C at a Historicon I attended many years ago. |
