From what I remember, neither Reagan nor North gave aide and comfort to an enemy the US was in active hostilities against. Carter did. |

I don't recall that the US was at war with anyone from 1976-1980. But I was in college, so maybe I missed it. |

I didn't like Jimmy Carter as President, but he is no traitor. He is a very good man with just different politics than mine. |

My take on Jane Fonda, from the original Poll Suggestions thread.
It's handy to think of Jane Fonda as a traitor, but I always thought of her as just another airhead celebrity, trying to "make a difference".
If she had ever done any real damage, she could have been prosecuted.
I wonder if it galls her that she was never considered all that important. Just annoying. Technically, she did give aid and comfort to the enemy. And posing with that anti aircraft gun could be considered "taking up arms".
But it would have been too much bother to actually prosecute her. I do hope it bothers her that nobody bothered.The thing is that nobody ever took her seriously. Who did she convert?
She didn't really matter. Nothing she did affected anything. All she did was  off a bunch of people who still hold a grudge.
She was just a useful idiot.

Looks like this is the list that I should add Eadric Streona to, rather than round A. Some very odd suggestions for traitors in these polls. |
